El Sordo Photography

Although I have no religion the passion of the Semana Santa is remarkable. It was this passion I went to photograph rather than the religious observance.

I visited Auschwitz on the 7th of January 2009. It is by far the most horrifying place I have ever been. The thought of it still haunts me.

Although I was banned from getting close to the rioting, the demonstration and subsequent meeting in Trafalgar Square showed that there is still hope. Sometimes it is necessary to take to the streets.

The Feria is fun, designed to be full of joy it is always so. Not for the faint-hearted it drains strength and stamina. It is well worth it though.

Federico García Lorca was shot under an olive tree on the 19th of August, 1936 at Alfacar near Granada. After I visited the park I cut a small branch from the tree which I keep over my desk.

The ordinary people, not the rich and famous or those born to privilege. Just the common folk, the people who really matter.
